About Us
Who we are
Autism Talk is an organization that was created to teach, listen and learn about autism and special education services. It was developed by Samone Barnes-Ambrose.
Samone is a special education teacher with a Juris Doctorate degree. She has worked with students with disabilities over 30 years.
Samone has always informed, taught, and listened to parents, students and professionals to support in the betterment of the person with disabilities. She has a plethora of experience researching special education and supporting students with disabilities. Her goal is to make sure the world is informed and not afraid of neurodiverse individuals.
Why we are here
Samone’s best friend’s son with Autism, Ryan Gainer, was murdered. Ryan Gainer had a mental health episode on March 9, 2024 and the family reached out to the Sheriff department for support. Ryan was killed in his very own front yard.
Therefore, Autism talk was created to assist with educating the world about autism to combat the fear of people with autism. There is no reason for us to be afraid of someone with autism or any disability.
